I provide underwater images for all sorts of applications, from fine art to commercial and educational use. I specialize in the algae and animals from the west coast of North America, primarily Washington State (USA) and British Columbia (Canada). In almost all aspects, the marine life found in this part of the Pacific rivals anything found in the hottest tropical destination.
The problem is that water temperature and clarity (or lack thereof!) conspire to make it far less accessible to snorkelers and divers. The diversity and abundance of marine life in these cold dark waters is relatively unexplored, and one of my goals is to make this marine life more widely recognized.
I have a number of commissioned works in the Seattle area, including permanent installations in the Seattle Aquarium, and Seattle Children's Hospital. I also have work in British Columbia, at God's Pocket, one of my favorite cold water destinations. If you have found something on the beach at low tide, or are just interested in what lives in the water, feel free to get in touch!
